To Live's To Fly: The Ballad of the Late, Great Townes Van Zandt11/4/2008 - John Kruth, Professor of music at the College of Mount Saint Vincent, recently published To Live’s to Fly: The Ballad of the Late, Great Townes Van Zandt.  The book was selected as the “Best Musical Biography of the Year” by the American Society of Composers, Authors & Publishers Awards (ASCAP). He will be honored on Tuesday, December 9, at Lincoln Center in New York City where he will receive the Deems Taylor Award which recognizes books, articles, liner notes, broadcasts and websites on the subject of music selected for their excellence. Cynthia Meyers to Learn First-Hand about Television Entertainment
11/4/2008 - Professor Cynthia Meyers, Communications Professor at the College of Mount Saint Vincent, has been selected to be one of 20 faculty members to take part in a week long seminar to work directly with television professionals in the aim of improving curriculum and faculty expertise. The seminar will take place on from November 11-15, 2008 at the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in Los Angeles. More...
Guest Speakers Discuss Actions That Can Help End Crisis
10/30/2008 - The Women’s Studies Program at the College of Mount Saint will be hosting their third panel discussion “The Traffic in Women.” This event will explore the truth behind the horrors of women being smuggled across borders, exploited, and forced into slavery. It will be headed by three keynote speakers; Jennifer Dreher of Safe Horizon’s Anti-trafficking program, Lakshmi Anantnarayan of Equality Now, and Sister Claire Regan from the Sisters of Charity. The event will be held on November 6 in the President’s Reception Room at 4:30 p.m. and open to the public.

Free "Paying for College" Workshop and $500 Scholarship - Oct. 25
10/6/2008 - On Saturday, October 25, the College of Mount Saint Vincent will hold a Latino College Fair. The fair is open to all Latino students who are interested in gathering more information about college, learning about receiving financial aid, and finding out how to navigate the application process.  The fair is presented jointly by the College, the Sallie Mae Fund, the Commission on Independent Colleges and Universities, and the Bronx Assembly Delegation.  More...
10/23/2008 - The Peter J. Sharp Athletic and Recreation Center is on its way to becoming the newest addition to the College of Mount Saint Vincent. On October 25th at 12:30 p.m. there will be a groundbreaking ceremony to usher in the new facility.  The Peter J. Sharp foundation granted $1.75 millions dollars to the Mount in 2006 through Edmund Duffy, a Trustee, for the renovation and expansion of the athletic facilities. More...
