3.5 Final Selection

The Search Committee will select and rank the successful candidates. The Search Committee chair will discuss the rank-order candidates with the Provost/Dean of Faculty. Considering the recommendation of the Search Committee, and after consultation with the President, the Provost/Dean of Faculty shall make a formal offer of appointment on behalf of the President. Rank, salary and determination of the number of years experience counted toward tenure will be negotiated at that time. The issuance of the faculty contract constitutes the formal offer of appointment. The candidate’s return of the signed contract constitutes the formal acceptance. Only the President of the College, or with the President’s approval, the Provost/Dean of Faculty, is authorized to offer appointments to the faculty. See Section 4.1 for requirements of pre-employment documentation. All search materials are to be kept on file in the Office of the Provost/Dean of Faculty for six years.
