Dr. Garofalo is a nationally board-certified physician assistant with 40 years of clinical experience with a concentration in orthopedics. He is currently the Chief Physician Assistant within the New York City Police Department assigned to the NYPD Medical Division. Additional clinical experience includes emergency, trauma, and occupational medicine with extensive clinical training in the areas of behavioral health and rheumatology/immunology.

With over 15 years of physician assistant educational experience, Dr. Garofalo has held previous academic appointments at major physician assistant programs, including academic coordinator and director for graduate and didactic studies. He has also held adjunct faculty positions at numerous PA programs, including faculty assignments in clinical anatomy, clinical physiology, physical diagnosis. Dr. Garofalo areas of interest in education include program and policy development, didactic and clinical remediation, and syllabi structure.
