IPSL

The College of Mount Saint Vincent is home to the offices of IPSL (formerly the International Partnership for Service Learning), a world leader in international student education and service learning. Nearly every college student has an opportunity to study abroad, but College of Mount Saint Vincent students have an advantage: they can imbue their study abroad experiences with meaningful work that makes a difference. Through the Mount’s partnership with IPSL, students can expand their academic studies and participate in international service learning projects. In addition, the alliance supports the Mount’s graduate program in International Development and Service.

From exploring the history and culture of the Andean Highlands to studying the hill tribes and elephant camps of Thailand, these service-learning trips allow students to change the world for the better. Students might help maintain the complex ecosystem in the Galapagos Islands, teach English or health concepts to poor and rural Cambodian youth, build centers for refugees—or choose from many more opportunities. For each trip, students are based at a partner University campus, live with host families, and earn up to 16 credits per semester. For many students, IPSL placements mark the beginning of an international or intercultural career.
