Is there an application fee for Accelerated Nursing?
There is no application fee for the Program.

Am I eligible to apply to the Accelerated Nursing if I have earned only an associate’s degree and not a bachelor’s degree?
Prospective students who have earned a bachelor’s degree in a non-nursing subject are eligible to apply to the Accelerated Nursing.

Are prospective applicants who have earned a bachelor’s degree from an institution outside the U.S. still eligible to apply?
Yes. They are required to have their transcripts evaluated by WES or Globe.

Can the prerequisites be taken online?
The requirements in college writing, statistics, and calculus will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis if previously taken online. However, the College does not accept online credits for the science prerequisites in nursing.

If some of my prerequisite classes have been taken over 5 years ago, would I have to retake them? Can I still apply?
Yes, you must retake these classes, and you are encouraged to apply to the Program. We cannot render a decision on your application until the prerequisite classes have been retaken and successfully completed.

If I am in the process of completing the prerequisites, when will I know the admission decision?
Upon successful completion of the prerequisites and submission of the official grades, your admission decision will be issued.

Where can I take the prerequisite classes if I need to complete them?
Applicants can complete the prerequisite courses at the College of Mount Saint Vincent as a non-matriculated student or they can complete them at another college, university, or community college. This must be done prior to being offered admission into the Accelerated Nursing.

Once accepted into the Program, can I be waived out of certain classes that I have previously taken?
Yes, students can potentially be waived out of Lifespan, Genetics, Pathophysiology, and Pharmacology if their previous coursework is deemed transferable.

If I have taken General Chemistry will that meet the Organic Chemistry requirement?
No. All prospective applicants are required to complete Organic Chemistry to fulfill the prerequisite requirement.

What type of nursing license will I be eligible to obtain upon completion of Accelerated Nursing?
Upon completion of the Program students are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Exam (NLCEX-RN exam) to earn a RN license.

What is the overall average GPA required for admission into Accelerated Nursing?
A 3.0 GPA is required for admission.

Is Accelerated Nursing offered at both the Riverdale and Mid-Manhattan Campuses?
Yes, the same Program is offered at both locations.

Where is the Mid-Manhattan campus located?
The Mid-Manhattan campus is located at 4 West 43rd Street New York, N.Y. 10036.

Are there any differences between the two campuses? Which campus should I apply to?
The two campuses offer the same curriculum, faculty, and support. Applicants to Accelerated Nursing choose the campus that is most convenient for them.
