Adjunct Professor of Modern and Contemporary Art History

Job Description
The Division of Communication, Art, and Media is seeking a qualified instructor of modern and contemporary art history to teach one course on Monday evenings for undergraduate visual art majors, art history majors, and generalists beginning in September 2020.  The applicant would also be welcome to arrange one, or two daytime, or evening courses in future semesters.

Qualifications

  • The applicant will have completed an M.A. in art history or an M.F.A. with substantial coursework in art history from an accredited college, or university with an emphasis on the development of 20th century abstract expressionism, and late 20th and 21st century movements away from modernism, such as minimalism, Pop, and conceptualism.
  • We would also welcome applicants who have an interest in Latin American artists, or in the contemporary history of any of the following: painting, video, photography, printmaking, motion and installation art.
