Graduates’ Checklist

To pick up your cap and gown, all must be completed by April 28, 2017

  • Complete and return the Application for Graduation via Self-Service by
    Wednesday, October 3, 2016
  • Submit a complete degree audit signed by your Academic Advisor to the Curry Center for Student Services in Founders Hall 223
  • Complete the Federal Stafford Exit Interview at www.nslds.ed.gov. If you complete your exit interview online, please save a copy of your confirmation for your records and email a copy to financialaid@mountsaintvincent.edu. Otherwise, please submit it in person to the Curry Center for Student Services, Founders Hall 223 by Friday, April 28, 2017
  • Graduates with Federal Perkins Loans must come to the Curry Center for Student Services to complete their Federal Perkins loan exit interview prior to Friday, April 28, 2017 
  • Satisfy all outstanding bills with the Office of Student Accounts. You can check your account at Self-Service under “View Your Bill”
  • Complete the Career Survey


Once your bill is paid, exit counseling and survey are completed, pick up your cap and gown 

  • Pick up cap and gown Smith Hall:
    • Wednesday, May 3, 2017 between 3-7 p.m.
    • Thursday, May 4, 2017 between 12-4 p.m.
  • Late cap and gown orders in Smith Hall:
    • Wednesday, May 3, 2017 between 3-7 p.m.
    • Thursday, May 4, 2017 between 12-4 p.m.
  • B.A./B.S. candidates only – Attend MANDATORY Awards and Hooding Ceremony, Friday, May 19, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. and wear cap and gown (only time hoods are available for undergraduate students). Family and friends are encouraged to attend.
  • Commencement – Saturday, May 20, 2017 – Bachelor’s report at 9:00 a.m. to Hayes Auditorium
  • Commencement – Saturday, May 20, 2017 – Master’s and accelerated nursing students report at 9:00 a.m. to Smith Hall
    (Hooding Ceremony – the only time hoods are available for master’s graduates)
  • Return cap and gown to Smith Hall immediately following Commencement
  • Receive diploma if all academic requirements are met, all bills are paid, and federal loan exit interviews and Career Surveys are completed, in Smith Hall following Commencement.
