Model United Nations

The University of Mount Saint Vincent Model United Nations (Model U.N.) club is a forum for students interested in debate, research, and global issues. It serves as a platform for addressing global concerns in a real-world context. Students attend international conferences modeled after the General Assembly and Crisis Committees that provide students the opportunity to focus on selected topics for discussion and debate culminating in the passing of resolutions. Students are representatives of their countries and organizations and are required to stay in character through the duration of each conference and the preceding study sessions. Students in the club have addressed issues including regional conflicts, peacekeeping, human rights, human trafficking, and economic and social development. Students from every major and interest are welcomed and every student interested in global issues is encouraged to participate in the club.

Recent Delegations
In March 2015, the Model U.N. team traveled to Mount Holyoke College for the Five College Model United Nations (FCMUN) Conference.

In February 2015, the Model U.N. team traveled to Harvard University to debate global issues at the Harvard National Model United Nations (HNMUN) Conference.

In October 2014, the Model U.N. team traveled to Columbia University for the Columbia Model United Nations in New York (CMUNNY) Crisis Committee Conference.

In November 2013, the Model U.N. team traveled to the University of Pennsylvania for the University of Pennsylvania Model United Nations Conference (UPMUNC).
