Capital Projects

The College offers a vibrant and supportive community that enhances learning and student development. Among the benefits of the College community are facilities that support both the talents and ambitions of students. In the past decade, the thoughtful philanthropy of alumnae/i and friends has allowed the College to create dynamic new facilities and equip its historic buildings to meet the needs of a growing 21st century student population. The College has completed significant capital projects, including the expansion of Maryvale Hall, the construction of Mastronardi Residence Hall, and the creation of the Peter Jay Sharp Athletic and Recreation Center and the campus’ first athletic field. The College has also undertaken renovations and improvements to the first floor and north wing of Founders Hall and the modernization of the Science Hall—which has already created nine new laboratories, as well as renovated classrooms and faculty offices.

The College will continue this work through: the renovation of the exterior of the Elizabeth Seton Library; creation of a laboratory suite for microbiology; construction of new nursing simulation laboratories; the preservation of historic Fonthill Castle; and continued renovation and preservation of Founders Hall. Interested donors can enhance life at the College with contributions to further any of these projects. A gift towards a capital project offers a physical illustration of the donors’ generosity while strengthening academic programs and creating new opportunities for students.
