6/20/2008

College Plays the Part of Elite High School

Riverdale, NY – The hit crime drama television show, Law & Order: Criminal Intent is currently filming portions of an upcoming episode at the University of Mount Saint Vincent. The 3-day shoot will use various locations throughout campus as backdrops for the show. Vincent D’Onofrio (The Cell, Men in Black), Kathryn Erbe (Stir of Echoes), guest star Joanna Adler, and all principle actors will be on campus for filming.

Preparation and filming started on Thursday, June 19, and will continue on Friday, June 20, and again on Monday, June 23. The shoot will use several areas of the campus including Marillac Hall, Smith Hall, as well as classrooms, hallways, and boiler room in the Administration building

“Filming on location three days in a row is rare. The college had all the locations we needed for the episode,” says Mark O’Brien, Assistant Location Manager for Law & Order. “Mount Saint Vincent has been very accommodating while we’re shooting.”

This is not the first time Law & Order has been on campus. The cast and crew previously filmed an episode for the original Law & Order for their September 25, 2005, episode “Flaw.” Scenes were shot in around campus buildings including Fonthill Castle, a New York City landmark built by Edwin Forrest in 1852.

The Law & Order: Criminal Intent episode is scheduled to air the end of July or early August and titled “Legacy” on the USA Network. It will center on a murder in an elite, upscale high school in Manhattan.
