On Christmas day, the College will host the non-profit organization, God’s Love We Deliver.
On Christmas day, the University of Mount Saint Vincent will host the non-profit organization, God’s Love We Deliver. A group of volunteers will work from campus to prepare approximately 2,100 meals from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. These meals will then be personally delivered to clients, many who are living with HIV/AIDS, cancer, Alzheimer’s disease and other chronic illnesses. These clients live in all five New York City boroughs as well as New Jersey and Hudson County.
God’s Love We Deliver is the metropolitan area’s leading not-for-profit organization dedicated to preparing and delivering approximately 3,000 nutritious, life-sustaining meals free-of-charge each weekday, to nearly 1,600 men, women and children. GLWD has no waiting list for any of its services, including meals. Since its inception, the agency has prepared and delivered over 8.6 million meals. GLWD has nearly 1,800 volunteers, of whom almost 1,300 are active each month. Their volunteers provide nearly 6,000 hours of service each month and outnumber the staff 25 to 1.
The Mount has hosted God’s Love We Deliver every Thanksgiving and Christmas for the past five years.
