Humanities Professor’s Art Work Showcased at Art Students League of New York

Richard Barnet, an Associate Professor in the Humanities Department at the University of Mount Saint Vincent, will have his sculpture Ship with Shields displayed at The Art Students League of New York in midtown Manhattan. The sculpture will be shown from January 11 to February 16, 2009.
The work was sculpted in 2006. Barnet chose to use bronze as a medium. It weighs about 85 pounds, measures 19 inches long, 9 inches high, and 11 inches wide. It is valued at $8000.
Barnet’s previous sculpture Boat with Mountains was displayed at the National Sculpture Society and Broome Street Gallery in 2008. Ship with Shields will be on display in a window of the Art Student League of New York 57th Street, between 7th Ave and Broadway. For more information, please visit theartstudentsleague.org.
