Internationally-Renowned Theologian Delivered CMSV’s Lenten Lecture Wednesday, March 9

Riverdale, N.Y. – To celebrate Ash Wednesday on Wednesday, March 9, 2011, internationally-renowned theologian Sr. Elizabeth Johnson delivered the University of Mount Saint Vincent’s annual Lenten Lecture to 150 guests on the College’s Riverdale campus. Her lecture explored the theme of “Reflections of Faith in an Increasingly Secular World,” and was attended by Mount students, faculty, staff, administrators and members of the Sisters of Charity of New York. The college holds a Lenten Lecture each year on Ash Wednesday to begin the Lenten season with an inspirational lecture.

Sister Johnson is a renowned theologian with feminist concerns and a distinguished professor of theology at Fordham University. A former president of the Catholic Theological Society of America, Sister Johnson has authored many books and essays. Her works have been translated into many languages, including French, German, Spanish, Korean, Indonesian and Thai.
