CMSV Celebrates Founders Week 2014

4/15/2014

Riverdale, N.Y. – The University of Mount Saint Vincent celebrates the 103rd anniversary of the charter creating the University of Mount Saint Vincent on Thursday, April 24, 2014. This year, Founders Day will be the culmination of the inaugural Founders Week, which will include a variety of activities focusing on three themes: Earth Day on Tuesday, April 22, Homelessness Awareness Day on Wednesday, April 23, and Founders’ Day.

Originally founded as the Academy of Mount Saint Vincent in 1847 by the Sisters of Charity of New York, the Trustees of the University of the State of New York amended the charter in 1911, creating the University of Mount Saint Vincent. Today the College is synonymous with exceptional, co-educational, Catholic and ecumenical liberal arts education with nationally-recognized programs taught by distinguished faculty in small, supportive classes.
