CMSV Players Present “Footloose”

11/18/2015

Riverdale, N.Y. – The student theater group at Mount Saint Vincent, known as the CMSV Players, will debut their rendition of the Broadway musical Footloose from November 20 through 22 in Hayes Auditorium. Footloose is based on the film of the same name, which follows a teenage boy as he moves to a small town where the local government has banned dancing and rock music, in which he leads his classmates around the law to have a real senior prom.

The CMSV Players performance includes music by Tom Snow with lyrics by Dean Pitchford, and is based off of the adaptation by Dean Pitchford and Walter Bobbie. Jon Salamak, Graduate Assistant for Student Activities, Leadership, and Commuter Life, is credited as director.

The production opens November 20 at 7 p.m. Additional performances will be held November 21 at 7 p.m. and on November 22 at 2 p.m. Tickets to the show will be $2 for students with a valid Mount Saint Vincent ID and $5 for outside guests. Shirts will also be on sale at all performances, priced at $10 for Mount students and $15 for outside guests.

Additionally, to raise awareness for National Hunger and Homelessness Week, the CMSV Players along with the Class of 2019 will be hosting a food and shoe drive through all three performances.
