College of Mount Saint Vincent Dedicates New Athletic Field at Homecoming

10/17/2014

Riverdale, N.Y. – The University of Mount Saint Vincent will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony to dedicate its new Athletic Field at Marillac Hall on Saturday, October 18, 2014. The dedication will take place at noon, following a Parade of Athletes onto the new field for its inaugural Homecoming Weekend.

The new NCAA regulation field was completed in spring of 2014 for the men’s and women’s soccer and lacrosse teams, as well as intramural team recreation.

The $2.3 million field overlooks the Hudson River, features natural grass, and is the first athletic field on the campus.

With the Mount’s Division III athletic programs growing rapidly, the new athletic field is testimony to the College’s commitment to providing students an opportunity to fully realize the educational opportunities—in and outside the classroom—that the Mount has provided in fulfillment of its mission for over 165 years.
