College of Mount Saint Vincent Presents the Excellence in Teaching Winter Colloquium

Riverdale, N.Y. – The University of Mount Saint Vincent presents the Excellence in Teaching Winter Colloquium, “The Life of the Mind: Intellectual Excitement in Your Classroom,” held on All College Day, Wednesday, January 15, 2014, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Maryvale 101 and 114.

The Excellence in Teaching Committee’s topic, “The Life of the Mind: Intellectual Excitement in Your Classroom,” will include discussions between presenters and students.

Questions for discussion include: How can we ignite a creative engagement with the liberal arts and sciences in our students? How do we model and stimulate the life of the mind for students? How do we turn our students on and get them intellectually excited about learning?

The colloquium will feature presentations by Dr. Katherine Alexander, Robin Schwarz, Dr. Kirsten Grant, Dr. Cathryn McCarthy, Fr. Michael Conforti, and Dr. Ted Kafala.
