College of Mount Saint Vincent Recognizes 10th Anniversary of 9/11

Riverdale, N.Y. – The University of Mount Saint Vincent will observe 17 minutes of silence on Sunday morning, 9/11/11, in recognition of the lives lost 10 years ago in the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center.

The Founders Hall bell will toll at 8:46 a.m., the moment when the first plane hit the north tower. The bell will ring again at 9:03 a.m., in remembrance of the south tower crash.

On Sunday evening at 7 p.m., the College’s Liturgy in the Main Chapel in Founders Hall will also include a special 9/11 remembrance. All members of the public are welcome to join. On Monday, September 12, 2011, the College will offer a special service in Alumnae/i Quad at 4:30 p.m. with a reception afterward.
