Dr. Cynthia Meyers Awarded the Alvin A. Achenbaum Travel Grant to Visit Duke University

Riverdale, N.Y. – University of Mount Saint Vincent Associate Professor of Communication was awarded the Alvin A. Achenbaum Travel Grant to visit Duke University’s Hartman Center for Sales, Advertising & Marketing History. One of nine researchers selected to use the Hartman Center collections, Dr. Meyers will examine the archives of ad agencies J. Walter Thompson and Benton & Bowles, as well as other historic papers.

Dr. Meyers has also been selected to serve on the Advertising Education Foundation’s Selection Committee for the Visiting Professor Program 2014. She recently presented her research “The Problems of Branded Entertainment: BBDO, Sponsors, and Blacklists on Radio and Early Television” at the Society for Cinema and Media Studies, in Seattle, WA.
