Dr. Edward Meyer Inducted into Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs Hall of Fame

The University of Mount Saint Vincent is pleased to announce that Dr. Edward Meyer, Dean of the School of Professional and Continuing Studies, was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). The award was presented during the regional meeting of the ACBSP Region I chapter held in Springfield, Massachusetts on October 23, 2010.

Dr. Meyer received the award in recognition of his various accomplishments within ACBSP. He has served as a national president, commissioner for the baccalaureate and graduate degree accreditation programs, chair of several accreditation site visits, chair of the national by-laws committee, and secretary of ACBS Board of Directors, among other roles. Dr. Meyer has organized the ACBSP national conference in Fort Lauderdale and hosted regional conferences at the University of Mount Saint Vincent. Dr. Meyer was also a recipient of the ACBSP Star Award for serving as Acting Executive Director of ACBSP.

“I see the recognition as an acknowledgement of the leadership role of the University of Mount Saint Vincent in business accreditation over the past 10 years,” said Dr. Meyer. “The College was the first to be accredited in business by the (ACBSP) and we have played and essential role in the expansion of business accreditation in the Northeast.”

An educator for more than 30 years, Dr. Meyer’s academic interests and professional training span several disciplines, including mathematics, higher education, law, business and human resources management. Dr. Meyer holds five earned degrees and is a member of the New York Bar. Dr. Meyer is on the Board of Directors of the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs.
