Mount Alumna Featured on Cover of “TechNews”

10/28/2015

Riverdale, N.Y. – University of Mount Saint Vincent alumna Monica Smith, CEO and founder of Marketsmith, Inc. and i.Predictus, has been featured on the front page of the October 2015 issue of TechNews.

The cover story highlights Monica Smith’s visionary passion for data, and her success at launching small start-up companies and turning them into industry leaders. Such companies include Marketsmith, i.Predictus, and Brushfire.

Marketsmith was founded in 1999, and is a leader in data-driven direct marketing strategies. The company ranked first as a woman-led company in the New York metropolitan area and fifth nationwide according to Inc. magazine. Additionally, in August 2015, Marketsmith was ranked 97th by the Inc. 5000 List produced by Inc., which ranks the fastest-growing private companies in America.

In 2011, she launched another company, i.Predictus, to address the need to replace the manual and time consuming process of planning, buying, and measuring performance to help television marketers. In 2015, she acquired Brushfire, a full-service advertising and public relations agency. All three companies—Marketsmith, i.Predictus, and Brushfire—now live, collaborate, and innovate together under one roof, “The Marketplace.”

Beyond emphasizing her successes in the tech arena, the story also promotes her commitment to charitable initiatives, including One More Smith, a nonprofit organization that provides a permanent home and sanctuary for small animals in need, and “Bring Dinner Home,” an annual Thanksgiving event that provides food, funding, and essentials for families of the Camden Street Elementary School in Newark, N.J.
