Mount Freshman Named Division III Male Athlete of the Week

Riverdale, N.Y. – A freshman and forward from the men’s soccer team at the University of Mount Saint Vincent (CMSV) has been named the Division III Male Athlete of the Week by USCollegeSport.com. Dennis Reyes ’18 leads collegiate men’s soccer in goals this season and has scored five goals in two games this past week for CMSV. Earlier this week Mr. Reyes was named the Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week for the second time this season.

The Waldwick, N.J., native tied the current Mount record for scoring in a single game with four goals, including the game-winner for a final score of 10-1 against Sarah Lawrence College on Saturday, September 27. Mr. Reyes is the third player in the College’s history to accomplish the feat. He also set the institution’s record for most consecutive games with a goal, scoring in seven straight meets.

With two wins in three games last week, the Mount moves back to the .500 mark for the season at 5-5 overall, with a 2-1 conference record. The Dolphins travel to face Arcadia University on Wednesday, October 1, and square off against Farmingdale State College on Saturday, October 4.
