Mount Students Featured in Art Exhibition

Riverdale, N.Y. – The work of more than 20 Mount Saint Vincent students has been featured in the Blue Door Art Center’s first faculty and student exhibition, Mind and Material. The show, curated by students and faculty from the College, will be held at the Blue Door Gallery in Yonkers, N.Y. through June 11.

The participating student artists include: Aneesa Alli ’18, Brian Alonzo ’18, Christina Barone ’17, Hanna Cho ’16, Alyssa Durocher ’16, Nicholas Giancaspro ’16, Rita Guglielmo ’18, Corey Hourahan ’17, Lincy Johnson ’18, Scott Lister ’17, Erica Llewellyn ’16, Iliette Lopez ’16, Aiswarya Mathew ’18, Olga Medina ’18, Catherine Pena ’18, Angel Perez ’18, Stephanie Ratanshi ’16, Amy Rojas ’16, Ashleigh Scozzari ’16, Rachel Steimel ’17, and Emily Welch ’19

“We hope to continue our partnership with Blue Door,” says Enrico Giordano, Interim Chair and Associate Professor of Fine Arts. “Such a showcase gives students a valuable experience, emphasizing what it takes to curate, advertise, install, and exhibit in a professional art gallery.”

Additionally, the exhibit showcases art from seven Mount faculty members, including work by Richard Barnet, Angeles Cossio, Enrico Giordano, Ted Kafala, Rob Seyffert, James Sparks, and Joanne Pagano Weber.

The gallery is open Tuesday and Saturday from 12 to 5 p.m.; Wednesday and Thursday from 3 to 8 p.m.; and Friday from 4 to 9 p.m. For additional information, please visit: bluedoorartcenter.org.
