NYPD Respond to False Alarm Made Anonymously from Off Campus

4/6/2018

Riverdale, N.Y. – This morning, 911 received various anonymous calls reporting threatening circumstances on campus.

We would like to thank our excellent NYPD who responded immediately, who directed the College’s response, and who confirmed that—as the NYPD expected—the threats were wholly false reports.

Campus life continued uninterrupted, consistent with NYPD expectations.

We do not know what fool made those calls. The NYPD will be investigating, as will we. It is of course criminal conduct, and we hope whoever made the calls will soon have the opportunity to experience the entire criminal justice system at work.

We do not have more information than this. If the NYPD is able to provide additional information, we will post it.
