Trustee Feature: Stefano Acunto

Riverdale, N.Y. – Stefano Acunto is a lot more than a man about town. Savvy cosmopolite, industry leader in media, featured commentator, industry leader in insurance, art connoisseur, former boxer, opera aficionado, and diplomat, his energy is as boundless as his activities are wide ranging.
As president and CEO of CINN Group, Inc.—a privately held group of media, insurance, and capital markets companies—he conducts business on four continents. From North and South America, to Europe and Africa, Mr. Acunto is the globetrotting 21st-century executive. His schedule puts him in London every three weeks. There he leads in the analysis and realignment of a major insurance company. Back in the States, he travels to the West Coast to advise a leading reinsurance company. At home in Greenwich, he catches up on myriad corporate and academic organizations where he holds a variety of leadership positions, including his newest role as vice chairman of the Commission on Independent Colleges and Universities’ Council of Governing Boards.
The great-grandson of Michele Berardini, a successful Italian merchant bankers and creator of patented international money transfer systems, and grandson of composer and pianist Stefano Acunto and architect Ercole Bisordi, Mr. Acunto is an active Italian volunteer, investor, and public figure. Formerly the Hon. Vice Consul for the Republic of Italy, he has been decorated with the rank of Commendatore, and received the country’s Stella della Solidarietà Italiana award. But nothing matters more than time with his children and grandchildren, visiting them in Princeton, New Jersey and Rome, Italy.
With all that, as a vibrant, on-the-go global leader, he never strays from his commitment to the College, where he serves on the Board. Who better to hold the traditions of liberal arts education in trust?
