College of Mount Saint Vincent Recognized for Learning Excellence

Riverdale, N.Y. – The University of Mount Saint Vincent has been recognized for offering one of the richest learning environments in New York, according to LearnHowToBecome.org (LHTB), a leader in education and career resources. The Mount stood out as one of the best schools among New York State’s 117 four-year institutions.
“It’s important to recognize colleges and universities raising the standard for exceptional learning,” said Wes Ricketts, co-founder of LHTB.
Top ranked schools were required to offer at least 10 undergraduate and graduate programs, provide strong tuition value, have small student-to-faculty ratios, and boast graduation rates higher than the national average. LHTB distinguishes their ranking criteria by including the median earnings of alumnae/i a decade after college enrollment. Including salary earnings along with tuition and financial aid packages offers a more comprehensive assessment of a college’s return on investment.
According to a new study on student economic mobility by UC Berkeley and the U.S. Department of the Treasury, the College of Mount Saint Vincent shares third place among 578 selective independent colleges and universities nationwide. Mount students experience greater upward mobility than those of all but two colleges and universities across the country.
“We are honored LHTB recognizes us as an outstanding institution,” said Mount President Charles L. Flynn, Jr. “Our students work hard and accomplish great things. Impressive government statistics on income after graduation confirms the quality of our students’ ambitions and the quality of their work. Academic excellence means something real. Our students know it, and they show it.”
