College of Mount Saint Vincent Appoints Dr. Sarah Stevenson New Dean of the Undergraduate College

Riverdale, N.Y. –The University of Mount Saint Vincent is pleased to announce that Dr. Sarah Stevenson has been appointed Dean of the Undergraduate College.

A passionate educator and scholar, Dr. Stevenson served as the Director of the Core Curriculum and Chair of the Core Review and Outcomes Committee, working closely with faculty, department chairs, administrators, and students in developing and improving our curriculum. Dr. Stevenson also served as Director of the First-Year Experience Program and the Freshman Seminar Program.

“Dr. Sarah Stevenson is an excellent choice as Dean of the Undergraduate College,” said Dr. Guy Lometti, Provost and Dean of Faculty of the College. “She is demonstrably student-centered and has a strong interest in all the things we do to help students to be successful.”

Dr. Stevenson joined the College in 2001 as Assistant Professor of English and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2007. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Literature cum laude at Harvard University and her Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in English at NYU.

Dr. Stevenson’s first official day as Dean will be January 2, 2014.  She will be working collaboratively with the faculty and administrators to enhance student support services and manage the Undergraduate College.
