College of Mount Saint Vincent Break Dancing Club to Host Mount Jam 3 Friday, March 30, 2012

Riverdale, N.Y. –The University of Mount Saint Vincent’s Break Dancing Club will host Mount Jam 3 on Friday, March 30 from 5 to 11 p.m. at the Peter J. Sharp Center on the College’s Riverdale campus. Mount Jam 3 is an interactive dance competition and workshop that features the popular style of street dancing known as “b-boying.”
Mount Jam 3 will host several types of competitions over the course of the event, including “3 on 3” battles, a “7 to Smoke” b-girl battle, and full crew battles featuring dance groups from the University of Connecticut, School of Visual Arts, Columbia University, and more. Internationally-known break dancing crew the Dynamic Rockers will be teaching skills to dancers and non-dancers as they explain the culture and meaning of “b-boying” throughout the event.
Mount students can buy their tickets in Crossroads or Spellman for $3.00 prior to the event, or $4.00 at the door with their Mount ID. This event is open to outside guests for $5.00.
