College of Mount Saint Vincent Professor of Humanities & Teacher Education Addresses

Riverdale, N.Y. – Dr. Ron Scapp, professor of humanities and teacher education at the University of Mount Saint Vincent, will address the Big Apple Cogers, a chapter of the Society of Cogers, the world’s oldest debate association, founded in 1755 in London, at 7 p.m. Wednesday, October 3, 2012, in Manhattan.

Dr. Scapp will speak about the current state of education in the United States. He is a noted educator and author and currently serves as president of the National Association for Ethnic Studies. Dr. Scapp is the 2012 recipient of the Charles C. Irby Award, given to an outstanding scholar in the field of Ethnic Studies. The Big Apple Cogers is the NYC chapter of the Society of Cogers, the role of which is to promote free speech and various ideas.
