College of Mount Saint Vincent to Host the 2010 Voice of the Faithful Tri-State Conference

The University of Mount Saint Vincent is pleased to host the 2010 Voice of the Faithful Tri-State Conference. The conference, titled “Breaking the Time Barrier: A 21st Century Laity Demands Relevance from a Medieval Hierarchy,” will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday October 30th in Smith Hall. The conference will feature keynote speaker Dr. Anthony T. Padovano, founding member and distinguished professor of literature and philosophy at Ramapo College of New Jersey, and a panel discussion with Joseph F. O’Callaghan, Professor emeritus of Medieval History at Fordham University, Jamie L. Manson, writer for the Youth column for National Catholic Reporter and Sr. Chris Schenk, Executive Director of Future Church.
Voice of the Faithful is a lay organization of faithful Catholics who organized in 2002 to provide a prayerful voice, attentive to the Spirit, through which the faithful can actively participate in the governance and guidance of the Catholic Church. Currently the organization has more than 30,000 members worldwide.
