College of Mount Saint Vincent Welcomes Over 370 Alumnae/i at 2014 Reunion

Riverdale, N.Y. – More than 370 Reunion attendees celebrated their alma mater at the University of Mount Saint Vincent last week. The two-day Reunion Weekend was attended by classes ending in “4” and “9” (from 1949 to 2009), with special tribute to the Class of 1964, celebrating their 50th reunion, and the Class of 1989, celebrating their 25th reunion.

This year’s special events featured a reading by novelist Karen Shepard, author of The Celestials; Sr. Joy Pellegrino’s mini-retreat “Personal Transformation through Art Expression”; and  “Living with Class: Philosophical Reflections on Identity and Material Culture,” a presentation by Mount faculty members Ron Scapp, Professor of Humanities and Teacher Education, Ted Kafala, Associate Professor of Communication and Media, and Kristin Lawler, Assistant Professor of Sociology. Alumnae/i also attended Beth Henley’s tragi-comedy Crimes of the Heart performed by Red Monkey Theater Group, the College’s theater company-in-residence and a late-night ghost tour.
