Division of Student Affairs Recognizes CMSV Students for Their Achievements

Riverdale, N.Y. —The University of Mount Saint Vincent Division of Student Affairs hosted a Student Recognition Award Ceremony Wednesday, May 1, 2013. The event acknowledged 24 students for their accomplishments during the 2012-2013 academic year.
More than 100 students, faculty, and staff from the Athletics Division, Office of Campus Ministry, Office of Housing and Residence Life, Office of Student Activities, and Office of Commuter Life and Leadership, attended the event.

2013 Student Recognition Awards
Scholar-Athletes of the Year
Janna Libby ’14, Hubert Bararwandika ’14
Awarded to the male and female student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA as recorded from the most recent semester. The student-athlete must have completed a minimum of 60 credit hours at CMSV to be considered for this award.
Male Athlete of the Year Award
James Zuccaro ’16
Awarded to the most outstanding athlete for the current academic year.
Female Athlete of the Year Award
Kelly Fraser ’15
Awarded to the most outstanding athlete for the current academic year.
Chuck Mancuso Dedication Award
Michael Knott ’13
Awarded to one student-athlete (male or female) who demonstrates the traits of dedication, commitment and character to CMSV. Chuck Mancuso was a trusted colleague and friend who served the College as Director of Athletics for 20+ years.
Student Organization Community Service
MAD (Make a Difference)
Awarded to the student organization that has demonstrated exceptional commitment to serving others and whose efforts have made a difference or has brought awareness to the campus community.
Advisor of the Year
Associate Professor of English Sarah Stevenson
Awarded to the faculty or staff member who dedicates their time in a volunteer capacity to a student organization at the Mount.
Outstanding Organization Event
Relay for Life
Awarded to the student organization event that impacted the Mount community greatly.
Community Developer of the Year
Rema Sayed ’14
Awarded to the RA who created the best programs and developed the best community for their residents.
RA of the Year
Louisa Jamgochian ’15
This award is the highest award an RA can receive. The recipient of this honor has excelled on every aspect of the position, has gone above and beyond the position, and is the model RA.
Platinum Award
Jaisymol Raju ’15
Awarded to the RA who staff feels is available to help without coercion or tears. This person might be heard saying, “What else can I do?” This staff member is always present and available to assist. When this person is called upon they shine and are willing to lend a helping hand even when they are not on duty.
Rookie of the Year
Stacey Cabezas ’13
Awarded to the RA who has developed and grown into the position for the 2012-2013 academic year. This person displays great potential future leadership on staff and on campus.

Awarded to a graduating senior female who has exemplified the humility, simplicity, and charity of Saint Elizabeth Seton as demonstrated through service and spirituality during her CMSV tenure.
Vincent de Paul Award

Awarded to a graduating senior male who has demonstrated a deep commitment to service throughout his years at the Mount.
Servant Leader Award

Awarded to a student who exemplifies the characteristics of servant leadership.

Awarded to the student at the Mount who has shown incredible school spirit to the Mount community. The individual chosen to be the recipient of this award embodies school spirit and traditions above and beyond others.
Student Leader of the Year Award
Kristin Yanniello ’13
The Student Leader of the Year award honors an outstanding Mount student who has shown significant leadership qualities and recognizes a student who has chosen to go “above and beyond” what is asked of students and their contributions towards the Mount.
