A Moment of Magic Foundation to Host “Find Your Wings” Brunch
4/4/2017
Riverdale, N.Y. – A Moment of Magic Foundation, a student-led nonprofit whose members dress as beloved characters to visit children in hospitals, schools, camps, and social service agencies in New York State and beyond, is hosting its first fundraising event, the “Find Your Wings” Brunch, on Saturday, April 8 at 1 p.m. in Smith Hall at Mount Saint Vincent. The event is open to all.
The group, formerly known on campus as The Princess Project, is now recognized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The program’s mission is to lift the spirits of children who need it most—especially those hospitalized over a long period of time. Mount seniors Kylee McGrane and Margaret McAndrew established the group to restore the magic of believing in a time when a child needs to “just be a kid,” reminding them to be brave, strong, and fearless.
Attendees will enjoy a buffet-style lunch, as well as an open wine and champagne bar. The event will include guest speakers including Miss New York USA 2016 Serena Bucaj, a raffle, and a wine pull. Tickets are $40 each and available at the door.
