Mount Offers Personalized Transfer Options for CNR Students

2/28/2019

Riverdale, N.Y. – Following the news of The College of New Rochelle’s statement that they will likely close this summer, Mount Saint Vincent announced its plans to support CNR students who wish to transfer uninterruptedly into one of the College’s many nationally recognized programs of study.

“The culture at The College of New Rochelle is very similar to what we have here at Mount Saint Vincent,” said President Charles L. Flynn, Jr. “Our colleges reflect the Catholic tradition. We share an abiding commitment to liberal education. And we remain true to our traditions of high quality, transformative education through academic excellence and authentic inclusivity. Recognizing our many shared qualities, we extend our resources and support to the students of The College of New Rochelle.”

Mount Saint Vincent is deeply committed to each student’s needs. We will find a way for you to complete coursework without having to retake classes. We will find a way to support your specific degree needs, whatever they may be. We will make your experience seamless.

Mount Saint Vincent will assist all qualified undergraduate and graduate students, as well as those in professional programs, as they continue their studies. Nursing students are especially encouraged to apply, as coursework in these programs of study—B.S.N., Accelerated Nursing, and M.S.N.—will be honored and mapped to Mount Saint Vincent’s curriculum, guaranteeing that students will not lose any time or work.

We welcome those affected by CNR’s planned closing to come and visit the University of Mount Saint Vincent for one-on-one, personalized transfer counseling advice. Schedule your visit and complete every step to transfer to the Mount—all in one day. Bring your transcripts and, if possible, a copy of your current financial aid package to receive an admission decision instantly. Students and their families who cannot attend any of the upcoming sessions may schedule an appointment at a more suitable time.

There’s no better time to apply. Mount Saint Vincent is currently implementing its newest multipurpose building, Aquino Hall. The five-story, 56,000 square-foot building serves a dual purpose—the top three floors will provide suite-style housing for resident students and the lower two floors will feature technologically advanced nursing simulation laboratories that will support the latest and best practices for training nursing professionals.

Nursing remains one of the College’s signature programs. The new simulation laboratories promote learning environments that encourage scholarship, enrichment, and community, keeping our programs strong and at the cutting edge of the profession.

“Aquino Hall is another example of the remarkable quality of the College’s nursing programs and our abiding commitment to expanding educational opportunity,” said President Flynn. “The new building will allow us to serve more students—and serve them exceptionally well.”

In addition to our nursing programs, the Mount offers over 70 degree programs and course offerings—many comparable to CNR’s—including majors and minors in the sciences and mathematics, humanities and the arts, social sciences, accounting, business, communication, and education, among others.

Education at Mount Saint Vincent goes beyond knowledge, skills, and preparation for work. We cultivate independent thinkers ready to apply critical inquiry toward lives of leadership, service, and innovation. Mount students go on to study at the finest graduate and professional schools in the nation. They become leaders and innovators in the global community. Our graduates leave our doors to become CEOs, doctors, lawyers, nurses, teachers, writers, analysts, and so much more.
