Red Monkey Theater Group Presents Free Stage Combat Master Class For CMSV Students

1/31/2013

Riverdale, N.Y. – On Saturday, February 16, and Sunday, February 17, Red Monkey Theater Group, the resident theater company at the University of Mount Saint Vincent, will be offering a two-day workshop in stage combat in Cahill Theater. The class will be given by Mark Rosenthal, a member of the Society of American Fight Directors, from 2 p.m.-5 p.m. both days. Mr. Rosenthal, whose work was most recently seen in Red Monkey Theater Group’s January 2013 production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, has been choreographing and teaching stage combat since 2009.

This two-day workshop will focus on sword fighting and is open to students of all levels who would like to learn more about how fights are choreographed for performance. The class is offered free for CMSV students, but space is very limited so act fast.
