How the Hybrid Format Works
The program uses an alternating hybrid format that combines on-campus instruction with live, synchronous online learning.Â
On-Campus Class Sessions
Attend class on campus one evening for lectures, hands-on learning, discussions, and scheduled exams or other in-person assessments.Â
Online Class Sessions
Participate in one evening of live, synchronous online instruction with the same faculty and classmates.Â
The alternating format reduces the number of trips to campus while maintaining regular interaction with faculty and classmates and the benefits of face-to-face learning.Â

Clinical Placement Support

UMSV’s dedicated Graduate Clinical Team works closely with each student to coordinate clinical placements at affiliated healthcare organizations throughout the greater New York metropolitan area, including:Â

- Long Island
Clinical experiences are structured as one-on-one preceptorships, giving students the opportunity to work directly with an experienced healthcare provider.Â
Students arrange their clinical hours based on their own availability and their preceptor’s schedule, rather than following a predetermined group clinical schedule.Â
The Graduate Clinical Team works individually with students to coordinate placements that meet program requirements while accommodating, whenever possible, each student’s schedule and preferred geographic location.
