The National Society of Leadership and Success NSLS is the largest leadership honor society in the United States. Our NSLS chapter at the Mount was founded in July 2022. Our local chapter is part of the National Organization with 700+ chapters and over 1.4 million members.
Students are nominated based on academic achievement (2.5+ cumulative GPA) and leadership potential. We currently have 363 members who have access to:
- More than $400,000 in scholarships.
- An exclusive NSLS job board.
- A personalized letter of recommendation.
Each year, sophomore, junior, and senior students are nominated directly from the Center for Leadership and are given 60 days to accept their nomination.
- Juniors are sent their nominations via email and mail in July.
- Sophomores and Seniors are sent their nominations via email and mail in January.
Students can also submit a self-nomination here with the addition of three faculty member recommendations.
Once students accept their nominations, they then become a member of the NSLS with benefits that include:
- Learning from exceptional leaders like former President Barack Obama, Oprah Winfrey, and Arnold Schwarzenegger during exclusive Speaker Broadcasts.
- Meeting new friends and making lifelong connections (both on campus and virtually).
- Taking part in leadership development workshops with the Director for the Center for Leadership.
- Accessing private networking events.
