Austin Epstein, MS, PA-C is a board-certified physician assistant and Director for Clinical Education for the University of Mount Saint Vincent’s Physician Assistant Program. He is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and is an active clinician with Richmond Primary Care.

Austin earned his physician assistant degree from Wagner College and his Master of Science from Touro College, where he concentrated on simulation-based learning. During his time at Wagner, he was a four-year Dean’s List recipient, a Spiro Scholar, and the recipient of the Spiro Endowment Award.

He began his career in emergency medicine, serving as both a clinician and clinical preceptor before joining the New York City Office of the Chief Medical Examiner as a Medicolegal Investigator, where he spent more than 15 years. These diverse clinical and forensic experiences continue to inform his approach to patient care, clinical reasoning, and medical education.

As the Director for Clinical Education, Austin oversees the clinical training of physician assistant students, develops and maintains clinical affiliations, and works closely with preceptors to ensure high-quality experiential learning. His academic interests include simulation-based education, competency-based assessment, clinical reasoning, and preparing students for successful transition into clinical practice.

Austin is committed to fostering critical thinking, professionalism, and lifelong learning in future physician assistants. He is also a certified American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Instructor.
