Department Policies
Psychology Department Attendance Policy
Students who miss four (4) weeks of scheduled class meetings will automatically fail the course, regardless of their academic standing in the course. This department policy overrides individual instructor policies on attendance.
| Number of Class Meetings Per Week | Number of Absences for Automatic Failure |
| 1 | 4 |
| 2 | 8 |
| 3 | 12 |
This policy does not apply to absences associated with University-sanctioned activities, approved accommodations, or official leaves authorized by the University. Students are responsible for communicating with their instructor regarding such absences and for completing any missed coursework.
Psychology Department Policy on Device Use During Exams
To protect the integrity of examinations and graded assignments, all students are required to comply with the smart device protocols established by their instructor prior to the start of any assessment. Regardless of the specific protocol in place, students may not access any smart device (including phones, smart watches, wireless earbuds, or similar technologies) during an exam or graded assignment unless explicitly authorized by the instructor. Possession or use of an unauthorized electronic device during an exam or graded assignment may be considered evidence of academic dishonesty and result in disciplinary action, including failure.
