Seton College

Seton College is a two-year associate’s degree program at Mount Saint Vincent.

Remaining true to the University of Mount Saint Vincent mission, Seton College holistically supports students and their families, while not passing on any financial liability. The primary goal is to provide an affordable, accessible, and achievable education to all students.

Students graduating from Seton College will earn an Associate of Arts degree in liberal arts. Academic advisors will work with students to structure their 12 elective credits toward exploring a possible major for a potential four-year degree in the future. Students will be taught by dedicated, experienced, full-time faculty members trained to ensure graduates work toward a common set of goals and values. Seton College students have access to academic and social resources, long established at the University of Mount Saint Vincent’s Riverdale campus.

All Seton College students will receive maximum student aid based on the results of their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the New York State Tuition Assistance Program (NYS TAP). No student will carry any debt after the completion of their two years of study. Seton College will also ensure financial literacy, providing counselors to assist students and their families with educational opportunities about college costs, available grants, and scholarships prior to enrollment.

Finally, in the spirit of Mount Saint Vincent’s commitment to the education of the whole person, Seton College will provide students with a laptop for their studies and access to breakfast and lunch on campus daily.

Seton College seeks highly motivated students who have performed to the best of their ability in high school and who possess the drive and determination necessary to succeed in an intensive academic program. A strong candidate for admission to Seton College will:

  • Enter college directly after high school
  • Possess a cumulative GPA of at least 70%-78% (2.0)—please note that students interested in taking lab science courses as electives should have a GPA of approximately 80% (2.5) with strong math and science grades
  • Demonstrate financial need

We look forward to meeting you as you explore the various opportunities that await at the Right Place on the River.
