Raymond Pullaro is an educator and communicator who combines real experience as a practitioner in the financial markets supported by a foundation in academia to foster student growth and learning. He currently serves as the Inaugural Dean for the University of Mount Saint Vincent’s School of Business.

Nearly two decades of experience on Wall Street provide Ray with financial markets insights and capital markets expertise. As managing director for Blackstone’s Alternative Asset Management division (BAAM), Ray served on BAAM’s Executive and Investment Committees. As a portfolio manager for the BAAM investment offerings, with over $32 billion in assets, he was responsible for top-down strategy research and was involved in all aspects of hedge fund manager evaluation, selection, and monitoring. Before working in asset management, Ray worked as a consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers, specializing in financial risk management. He began his career in finance as an options trader with O’Connor & Associates, working in foreign exchange, short-term interest rates, and emerging markets.

With nine years in academia first as a tenure track professor, Ray served as Dean of the School of Business, Public Administration and Information Sciences at Long Island University Brooklyn and concurrently as Dean of the AACSB accredited College of Management at Long Island University Post. He developed numerous programs to support student success, engaged learning, and career progression. He was highly regarded as a mentor and teacher across numerous courses in economics, finance, management, and leadership.

Most recently, Ray helped manage Gilded, a new fintech venture that specializes in digitizing physical assets. There he served as Chief Communication Officer with responsibility for Education and Research. In that capacity, he developed an online learning platform to educate financial advisors on the benefits and uses of digital assets and managed all aspects of internal education and compliance training for staff.

Ray received a BA from Yale University and an MBA from the Stern School of Business at New York University. He is currently pursuing a PhD in information studies with a dissertation on how artificial intelligence is affecting corporate learning and development.

    baseball in mind, specifically possessing the ability to maintain multiple pitch counts while keeping written score using a single implement.
