Dr. Theodora Levine has over 45 years of experience as a nurse educator. Dr. Levine has worked in both academic and hospital settings and served on the New York State Nurses Association Board of Continuing Education as a reviewer and evaluator for continuing education program approval. Her clinical specialty is acute care and adult medical-surgical nursing. With over 20 years of experience in leadership and management, Dr. Levine retired in 2017 from her position of Director of Education and Chief Learning Officer, after 31 years of service at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. In 2018, Dr. Levine joined the faculty of the School of Nursing at the University of Mount Saint Vincent as an Assistant Professor of Nursing and served for one year as Assistant Dean of Nursing for Academic Affairs.

Dr. Levine is a board-certified advanced nurse executive, a board certification awarded by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Dr. Levine has presented at many professional organizations on topics related to her expertise in the areas of leadership development, organizational behavior, and workforce and succession planning. Her doctoral project, “The use of blogging in tertiary healthcare educational settings to enhance reflective learning in nursing leadership” was published in the Journal for Nurses in Professional Development in 2014.

Dr. Levine is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International, Eta Sigma Chapter. She is currently the course coordinator for the Leadership and Management and Chair of the Nursing Quality and Evaluation Committee. She also serves on the Nursing New Faculty Search Committee, the Institutional Outcomes Assessment Committee, and the Institutional Technology Committee. She also provides graduate advisement for evidence-based practice project/thesis development for students in the Family Nurse Practitioner program, mentors students in the Honors Program, and is a preceptor to graduate students from other programs seeking degrees in nursing education. Dr. Levine participates in various campus events, including the College’s Open House, Accepted Students Day, Premier Program Day, and Early Action Brunch.

Dr. Levine is honored to be part of growing and mentoring the next generation of nursing leaders.
