Scholarships
If you are applying for an academic scholarship, you must be a full-time student and maintain the GPA stipulated by your particular award for yearly renewal. Students who fail to meet the academic requirements for scholarship renewal will have their eligibility for financial aid renewed on an individual basis.
Corazon C. Aquino Scholarship
This four-year, full-tuition scholarship is awarded to a high-achieving incoming first-year students of Filipino descent. Students will be notified in their mailed acceptance packets if they are eligible to participate in the required interview process, which will be held in January to mid-February. Award recipients will be notified in March. While attending CMSV, Aquino students must maintain a 3.2 GPA to retain their award. Aquino students will also be required to declare either a Philippine Studies or Tagalog minor.
Dean’s Merit Scholarship
Awarded to prospective students at the time of acceptance, this four-year scholarship is offered to first-year students based on their academic achievement in high school. Recipients must maintain a 2.75 cumulative grade point average to retain their award.
Fonthill Writing Award
This four-year, room and board scholarship is awarded to high-achieving prospective first-year students who exhibit a natural talent in writing and who are eager to develop their demonstrated skills. Students will be notified in their mailed acceptance packets if they are eligible to participate in the required interview process, which will be held in January to mid-February. Candidates must also submit 8-10 pages of writing as a portfolio for the Fonthill committee to review. Recipients must maintain a 3.0 GPA to retain their award. Recipients must pursue a minor in writing and be an active participant in writing in a campus club or student organization.
International Student Merit Scholarship
Awarded to prospective international students at the time of acceptance, this scholarship (four years for incoming and two to three years for transfers) is offered to first-year and transfer international students based on their cumulative grade point average, and standardized test scores. Recipients must maintain a 3.2 cumulative grade point average to retain their award.
Mary Ambrose Dunphy, S.C. Scholarship
The Mary Ambrose Dunphy, S.C. Scholarship was established in honor of the first dean of the College of Mount Saint Vincent. To be eligible for the award, the applicant must be a niece or nephew of a Sister of Charity or the child of an employee of the Sisters of Charity.
NSF S-STEM Scholars-on-Track Award
A four-year scholarship award for students who intend to major in biology, biochemistry, or chemistry. Applicants must demonstrate both strong academic achievement and high financial need.
Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship
Awarded to Transfer students who are members of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) and who have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of past academic standing only. Applicants must submit proof of membership, e.g., PTK Membership card or copy of PTK Certificate.
Seton Service and Leadership Scholarship
This four-year, full room and board scholarship is awarded to high-achieving prospective first-year students that exhibit a demonstrated commitment to and enjoyment of performing outstanding community service and that possess a great deal of leadership skills. Students will be notified in their mailed acceptance packets if they are eligible to participate in the required interview process, which will be held in January to mid-February. The scholarship requires an annual commitment to the Seton Service Program for continuation. Recipients must maintain a 3.0 GPA and fulfill a commitment to a service project of their choice. Recipients of the award will reside with a fellow Seton Service and Leadership Program scholar.
Transfer Merit Scholarship
Awarded to prospective Transfer students at the time of acceptance, students must have earned a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 – 4.0 at previous institutions. Recipients must maintain a 3.0 grade point average for annual renewal.
