Vincentian Promise
Could your degree be 100% debt free?
Introducing the Vincentian Promise—your pathway to a four-year degree at the Mount, without worrying about how you’ll finance your education.
Inspired by the spirit of St. Vincent de Paul, the Vincentian Promise ensures that financial barriers never stand in the way of your potential.
What’s the Vincentian Promise?
The Vincentian Promise is UMSV’s new, bold commitment to further opening doors for Pell-eligible students, removing the burden of potential debt after college. If you qualify, the University will cover any remaining gap in tuition and mandatory fees after your Pell Grant, New York State TAP award, and institutional scholarships.
That means you can earn your four-year undergraduate degree from the Mount—completely debt free.
You’ve worked hard, now let us take care of the rest.
That’s our promise to you.
Who’s eligible?
You can qualify for the Vincentian Promise if you:
- Are a New York State resident
- Have a minimum 85 high school GPA
- File the FAFSA to receive your Student Aid Index
- Are eligible for any amount of Federal Pell Grant
Ready to take the first step?
Your degree. Your future. Zero debt.
Please note: Pell eligibility is dependent on several factors—including household size and your family’s adjusted gross income (AGI). Students are typically Pell-eligible with an AGI below $70,000. Once you have a complete and submitted FAFSA, you will receive your Student Aid Index (SAI). Generally, students with an SAI below 6645 will be eligible.
