Application Checklist and Timeline

Deadlines

  • Early Action: Apply before November 15 to receive notification around December 15. Early Action is non-binding.
  • Priority Application: March 1

Please note: The University of Mount Saint Vincent uses a Rolling Application process. Apply between November 15 and March 1 to receive a decision within four weeks of completing your application.

Online Student Portal
Once you have applied, you will be provided with login information for an easy to use, interactive student portal. This portal will give you the ability to check the status of your application at any time, upload required documents at your leisure (in a .pdf format only), view your admission decision, scholarship information, and financial aid awards.

Required Academic Credentials
We recommend that applicants complete a solid college preparatory curriculum including the following:

  • 3-4 years of mathematics
  • 2-3 years of foreign language
  • 4 years of English
  • 2-4 years of social science
  • 3-4 years of physical science including laboratory study
  • Prospective nursing applicants typically have completed 4 years of science, with an advanced biology class (such as Anatomy, AP Biology, etc.)

Required Documents

Complete an Application
Apply using our online application or the Common Application. There is no fee to apply to the Mount!

In addition to your application, we require the following:

  • High School Transcript
    • Have your guidance office send your transcript to the Office of Admission, including your most recent grades and coursework.
  • Personal Essay
    • Please submit an essay on a topic of your choice.

Optional Application Materials

  • Standardized Test Scores
    Standardized test scores are not required to complete your application. If you believe that submitting your test scores will enhance our understanding of your overall academic achievements, you are welcome to do so. Please submit your SAT or ACT scores from the College Board. Our SAT code is 2088; our ACT code is 2823. Follow these steps to email your score report(s) for free to the Office of Admission at [email protected] or directly to your Admission Counselor.

    • SAT Scores

      • Visit collegeboard.org and click on “My SAT” to log into your dashboard
      • Click on the score report you want to send—under your score, click on the “View Details” button
      • In the top right corner, click the “Download Report” button and a PDF should download to your computer
      • If you have multiple reports you wish to send, since we do “super-score,” repeat steps 1 through 3
      • Email PDF score reports to [email protected]
    • ACT Scores
      • Visit act.org and click on the “Sign In” button
      • Click on “View Scores” and select the test date of the report you wish to send
      • In the top right corner of the page, click “Download Student Score Report PDF” to download your report to your computer
      • If you have multiple reports you wish to send, since we do “super-score,” repeat steps 1 through 3
      • Email PDF score reports to [email protected]
  • Supplemental Essay
    To strengthen your application, you may submit a supplemental essay (250-300 words).

Please note: On-campus interviews and letters of recommendation will only be required upon request on a case-by-case basis.
