Class Attendance
Students are advised about the importance of attending all classes, laboratory, and experiential learning/clinical sessions in order to be successful in their courses. Individual faculty members may include their own attendance policies on their course syllabus.
Course registration will be canceled if a student does not appear in class during the first week of the semester. However, charges will still accrue until official, written notification of withdrawal is received by the University.
It is the responsibility of the student to make up work if absent from class. Therefore, assignments are due on the designated days unless extension is granted by the instructor. Exception to these rules may be made for reasons of serious illness or unusual conditions beyond the control of the student. In such cases, the student or his/her designee, must notify the Dean of Students and the Dean of the Undergraduate College immediately. Instructors may then permit students to make up class tests missed during reported absences.
