3.3 Screening Process

Department Search committees will screen applications, resumes, transcripts and recommendations. Preliminary screening interviews via conference call or at regional meetings is acceptable. When candidates are screened via telephone, more than one member of the search committee will participate in the screening. When candidates are screened in person off-campus, more than one member of the Search Committee shall attend the screening interview. The Search Committee shall determine which candidates will be brought to the College for an on-campus interview. The Search Committee shall make every effort to limit the expense of the interview process while assuring a fair and open search. The Chair of the Search Committee shall discuss all candidates being brought to campus from long distances with the Provost/Dean of Faculty.
