6.1 Definition of Promotion

Promotion is defined as the advancement of faculty through the four traditional ranks, based on the criteria defined below. Promotion is not granted solely on seniority or length of service at the University of Mount Saint Vincent, but instead is considered a reward for outstanding contributions to the department and the College.
