Housing Selection

New and Transfer Students

New and transfer students will receive a housing assignment upon completion of the following:

  • Acceptance to CMSV as a resident student.
  • Payment of a $200 damage deposit.
  • Completion of a housing application.

The online housing application is available in early spring. Students must provide contact information and, if desired, lifestyle choices, and roommate requests at this time. The Office of Housing and Residence Life makes use of this information when assigning students to double rooms in Alumnae and Mastronardi Halls. First-year housing assignments are emailed to the students’ CMSV accounts on or around August 1.

Returning Students

The Housing Lottery process takes place each spring for eligible returning students. Returning students who wish to participate in the lottery are required to make a refundable deposit. Lottery numbers will be issued at random within each class (rising sophomore, rising junior, and rising senior). On the assigned day, students in that class are allowed to select their room assignments for the following academic year. A complete overview of the process will be posted Spring 2017.
