Policy Name: Admission Committee
The Admissions Committee is responsible for screening applicants and learner selection. The Admissions Committee will invite and welcome PA alumni, College volunteers, and current PA students to participate in the process. The committee meets during the admission cycle only.
This committee responsibilities include:
- The reviews of admission policies and procedures.
- Assures the accuracy and consistency of admissions publications (website, brochure, catalog, etc.).
- Reviews and evaluates admission requirements, including prerequisite courses, to ensure adequate applicant preparation for the program’s curriculum.
- Analyzes trends in the applicant pool and learner enrollment using national and/or regional benchmarks.
- Analyzes aggregate learner data related to attrition, deceleration, remediation, and performance/attrition data in the context of admission demographics.
- Principal faculty and the program director are be responsible for, and actively participate in, the processes of selection applicants for admission to the program.
- The committee must make student admission decisions in accordance with clearly defined and published practices of the institution and program.
- Minutes are taken by the program’s administrative assistant.
